Clinton Presidential Library

As a participant in the William Jefferson Clinton Distinguished Lecture Series, Marietta McCarty was at the Clinton Presidential Library. She spoke with students in the Master's in Public Service program followed by a book signing in the Presidential Library.

Mariett McCarty, assistant professor of philosophy at Piedmont Virginia Community College, discusses her new book “Little Big Minds.” She shares how the book offers guidance to parents and educators who want to introduce children to philosophical thinking by providing a philosophical concept. McCarty touches on her past 15 years of experience and her successful results in teaching philosophy to children as an art of clear thinking. “Ideas guide our actions whether they are clear or fuzzy; ideas mold our lives,” she says.
